The international artist Guillermo Gomez Pena of Pochanostra has invited the Liverpool based performance artist Gaynor Evelyn Sweeney to launch his Pocha International Performance Gallery. His selection from the artist is the live performance 'The Temple Series'.

'The Temple Series' performance was conceived and directed by Gaynor Evelyn Sweeney and performed live with Elizabeth Heritage, Tony Knox and George Lund at the Liverpool Biennial 2004. It is a hyrbid of other body previous performances which evolved from exchange and intervention in Liverpool, New York and Paris. This was accompanied by a projection of earlier live interventions filmed and founded by creative research and dialogue with the New York and Liverpool artists, particularly Kofi Fosu. The performance had toured to London in Spring 2005.

Her previous affiliation to Gu to Guillermo Gomez Pena and Pochanostra was during the liive performance of Excentris, Liverpool Biennial 2002, Bluecoat Art Centre, Liverpool, England. She had my own exhibition and performance within the Independents strand and the A Foundation. On the close of her own show, she had the opportunity to fo and view some of the art and performance through the other venues of the Liverpool Biennial 2002. 'The most profound I had experienced was Excentris...', directed and collaboratively performed by Guillermo Gomez Pena and associates from Pochanostra and Liverpool based artists. She describes her own collaboration 'Guillermo invited me to participate on their last of the performance, where I metaphorised as a Geisha with white face and red robe. I offered myself to the audience to inscribe their responses on my flesh. To become involved in Excentris was the utmost experience for me and something I will not forget'.

My participation in Excentris at the Liverpool Biennial 2002.
